Disable touchpad on external mouse detection
You can enable the option to disable the touchpad automatically as soon as an external mouse is connected on your Dell Studio 1555. Here’s how you do it:
1) Go to Start Menu>Control Panel>Mouse
2) In the Mouse Properties window choose the Dell Touchpad tab.
Click on the touchpad image to open up Dell Touchpad Settings window.
3) Click on Device Select.![]()
4) Check the Disable Touchpad/Pointing Stick when external USB mouse is present checkbox.
5) Done. Now when you plug in your external mouse, the touchpad will automatically get disabled.

Hi, My 1555 does not have a ‘DELL mousepad’ tab in ‘Mouse Properties’. Can you help me with this?

Hi Camello,
Do you have the touchpad drivers that come in the Dell Drivers DVD installed on your system?
